![]() The discussion took center stage for a while on Facebook and the Italian Twitterverse, with #Immuni becoming one of the local trending topics, partly due to the lack of clarity on some fundamental issues: would the app be mandatory, or would citizens be given the choice to install it or not? On April 20, a group of high-profile scholars, privacy experts and lawyers, published an "open letter to policymakers", calling, among other things, for the adoption of a decentralized architecture in the Immuni app implementation, in order to better protect the privacy of users. It’s a global debate, and Italy makes no exception.
